Apple is heavily rumored to be launching a new iPhone 13 with a smaller notch than previous models later this year. If that’s the case it will be the first time the infamous notch has changed since its introduction as part of the iPhone X design in 2017. Now, a new video claims to show that smaller notch thanks to a dummy unit mockup.
Shared by Macotakara, the new video and accompanying images show a dummy unit that appears to have been built using details from supply chain sources. The device in question is said to be an iPhone 13 Pro.

The notch itself has been made smaller as we’ve been hearing, with the Face ID hardware moving around to accommodate the change.
From Macotakara, via Google Translate:
Regarding the size of active area of the center housing, the height becomes from 5.30mm to 5.35mm, and the width becomes from 34.83mm to 26.80mm, which is smaller.
The infrared camera and light shooting illuminator placed on the left hand side of the speaker / mic are moved to the area of the speaker / mike of iPhone 12.
The position of the speaker / mic of iPhone 13 gets closer to the body,
The front camera used to be the right hand side of the speaker / mic, but it is moved to the left.
The rest of the iPhone 13 dummy mockup looks almost identical to the iPhone 12 Pro that’s on sale today. Beyond the potential arrival of Touch ID beneath the display and the smaller notch, iPhone 13 isn’t expected to be a huge upgrade over iPhone 12 which is still the best iPhone available right now.
