Apple is continuing to expand its development team for Apple TV+.
As reported by Deadline, the company has hired Zennon Clifton, an industry veteran who will take on the role of creative executive under Matt Cherniss.
Clifton, who joined in January, has joined the streamer as a creative executive, reporting to Cherniss, who is head of development and current programming
He joins from digital entertainment studio 3BD Networks, where he was EVP, leading the company’s direct-to-consumer content initiatives and working at its branded content studio.
He also worked as VP, TV & Digital at Charles D. King’s MACRO.
Clifton also co-founded No Label with Baron Davis to develop projects for multicultural audiences.
In 2016, Clifton co-founded the full service production company No Label with NBA star Baron Davis to develop both long and short-form content for multicultural audiences. Since forming, No Label has developed projects for Sony, Lionsgate, Amazon, MACRO and Warner Horizon.
Besides Clifton, there haven’t been a lot of notable hires around the streaming service since the company picked up BBC factual controller Alison Kirkham last year.
BBC factual controller Alison Kirkham is set to join streaming platform Apple TV Plus.
Kirkham will join Apple TV Plus this summer, reporting into creative director for Europe Jay Hunt. Based in London, the executive will have responsibility in Europe for unscripted original series and films.
Kirkham is the first major hire for Apple’s U.K. team since film producer Joe Oppenheimer joined the tech giant in 2018.
It is currently unclear what projects Clifton will be tasked with working on. If you’re wondering what the best way to watch Apple TV+ is, check out the Best Apple TV of 2021.
